About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department

(as a relative),

I just wished to record our appreciation of the volunteer service in the Emergency Department at Altnagelvin Area Hospital.  They make a very valuable addition to patient and relative comfort - it’s a very pressurised department and the volunteers are a ray of sunshine!  

Staff are run off their feet so the volunteers can allow them get on with direct patient care.  A brilliant role that I’d recommend to anyone with time on their hands.

Sincere thanks for taking the time to record your appreciation of our volunteer refreshment service within Altnagelvin's Emergency department.

As the Trust volunteer coordinator, I am delighted to hear that the volunteers you encountered brightened up your day, in what was probably not an easy time for you.

We can never underestimate the difference a cup of tea during a difficult time can make!

I will ensure the ED volunteer team are aware of your comments and will pass on your thanks.
