I was referred for CBT therapy by my GP following a period of anxiety surrounding my birth experience with my second child, a period of hospitalisation when my baby was 6 weeks old and subsequent health anxieties.
I have found my experience of CBT to be very beneficial. It has changed my outlook, has allowed me to realise my priorities, has given me a ‘voice of reason’ when faced with a stressful situation, has allowed me to begin to develop my confidence in being assertive and putting my needs and the needs of my family first.
I really appreciate the exercises we have done each week and refer back to key points of our discussions when I start to feel overwhelmed. The homework tasks were very manageable and useful.
I have come out of this experience feeling more confident in looking into the future and managing my mental health in a positive way.
I am very grateful for my therapist, Sarah, and have looked forward to our discussions each week.
