"Such a relief"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I had an enlarged prostate and a PSA of 8,  which meant that I felt like a pee every 10 minutes and that I might be heading for something more serious.

My GP referred me to NDDH where I had a met with Mr. Misra, consultant urologist.  He was such a kind and cheerful guy which quite put me at ease. He prescribed an additional drug (tamsulosin) to add to the one I was already taking (finasteride).

6 months later, at the follow-up visit, my blood test revealed that my PSA had fallen to 2, my prostate had shrunk and I had back control of my bladder! Such a relief. All the staff at NDDH have been more than kind and helpful to me - I also suffer from Alzheimer's - I can't thank them enough for their kindness and caring. And I am signed off! Hurrah!
