Hello, I am writing to praise the care my mother received at the RD&E after a fall down stairs the other week.
From reception, to the nurse in triage and the radiographer in X-ray, to especially nurse practitioner Joanna in the emergency department, staff were polite, efficient and professional, treating my mother with great care and respect.
I was particularly impressed with the thoroughness with which Jo examined her from top to toe, diagnosed a posterior fracture proximal humerus and refitted a collar and cuff that a trainee had had trouble with.
Jo also made sure that my mother had care afterward, arranging for our local hospital, Kingston, to pick up the physiotherapy. She did all of this with a great personal touch that my mother and I both appreciated very much.
Unfortunately, although she seemed well enough for the next few days, my mother died suddenly shortly after. I take some solace in knowing how well she had been treated at the RD&E.
Thank you for that.
