"Wrongly recording a missed appointment"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I attended my regular review of my situation with regard to prostate cancer at North Devon Hospital, but have discovered that MY Care shows incorrectly that I missed the appointment.

I phoned the hospital and drew attention to this error, but was told that it couldn't be changed on My Care, but that it didn't matter as anyone looking at my notes could see that I had in fact attended and could see the letter showing details of the consultation.

I am still unhappy about this as anyone looking quickly (rather than in-depth) would get the wrong impression that I had not attended for my cancer follow-up. The hospital statistics regarding missed appointments would also be wrong.

Dear oscarek65,

Thank you for your honest feedback in regards to the details on My Care showing as you had incorrectly not attended.

Please could you kindly email me - lisa.beasant@nhs.net so that I can look into your file further, with your full name, date of birth and NHS number if you have these details.

I look forward to hearing from you and I will then come back to you with further information.

Dear oscare65,

Thank you for contacting me with your specific details and I am pleased to confirm that this has provided some very useful insight and training to the team.

Your records have been amended and we can see that you did attend and you have a 100% positive response to attending all of your appointments.

I have also sent you an email to confirm this information.

Please accept mine and the teams apologies in regard to this and hope that this will provide you with some peace that your records are now reflecting the correct information.

If there is anything further I can help with then please do come back to me.

Best wishes,

Lisa
