I have been an NHS patient at woodthorpe hospital for approx 2.5 years now, and I have consistently had to badger them to remember I exist. The treatment I am getting is supposed to take place every 3 months, and I’ve had gaps of between 4 and 9 months in between. The phone system is completely redundant for NHS patients, and I have waited in hold queues only to be disconnected 6 times today, and multiple times last week. I’ve given it 2*’s simply because my consultant is very kind, and when you actually get through to someone on the phone they have always been considerate and patient even if they haven’t been able to be very helpful and when I actually have the procedure they have been very concise and caring. I emailed the person I was told to make a complaint to last year and have not received a response. As someone in constant pain, getting messed around and delayed has a severe effect on my physical and mental health but I’ve stuck with them because the last Pain Management service didn’t offer the treatment I need and I don’t know what else to do anymore. The hospital itself is very quiet and clean, but the administration of NHS patients is an absolute tragedy.
