"Appointment at pre assessment clinic"

About: Causeway Hospital / Pre-Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I attended my appointment at the pre assessment  clinic and was met by a very friendly  young nurse (Megan) she took my height/weight measurements before taking a blood sample, something she was VERY good at (talking to me throughout to put me at ease and not a mark the next day). Then I met the pre-assessment nurse (Esther) who was equally friendly and very informative, explaining the hospital procedure and what I could expect when I came into hospital. She patiently and professionally answered any questions I had, which put my mind at ease about what I had ahead.

Very positive experience.

Hi J McF

My name is Marie Devlin and I am the manager of the pre assessment unit. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your opinion on your visit to our unit. Everyone works very hard to make each patients experience personal to them and I am extremely proud of them all. We understand that patients can be very apprehensive about their surgery and anaesthetic and we try to allay any fears or worries that they may have.

I will pass on your kind compliments to Esther and Megan they will be delighted.

I wish you well with your pending surgery and a speedy recovery.

Regards Marie
