1. On one occasion the doctor simply read out my Ultrasound scan report to me. I had gone for a follow up due to increased pain in my kidney area, and they handed me a vial like thingy. Did not explain what that was and as I walked out, I asked what is that for- answer do a vaginal swab of yourself. Telling me on my way out of the door! Seriously!
2. Doctor wrote a disparaging remark about me in their notes which was repeated to me by the person on phone. I have a kidney cyst which apparently has increased in size. If I am reporting, pain in lower back, feeling dizzy at night and difficulty weeing - how on Earth is that too many problems! This is what I was advised on phone that 'the doctor has written in my notes. Apparently I come in with too many symptoms, and that I should be specific about a current problem. I repeated that this was my concern, I have pain in my lower right, I feel dizzy, and difficulty passing urine. The person on phone insisted that I should mention 1 symptom- how is that possible? In fact a group of symptoms, in my view, narrows down the problem better to one condition and points to the urgency of the matter.
It is a matter of concern that a doctor writes down a (seemingly derogatory comment) that the patient comes with too many symptoms. This in my view is disparaging a patient/ client who went to the doctor in good faith and the receptionist should not have repeated it to the patient
What kind of surgery does that. I would expect the staff to be kind and compassionate, never mind knowledgeable that an illness does have many symptoms and that is how a doctor arrives at a diagnoses, putting these symptoms together and pin pointing it to one organ.
Had I really really gone with too many symptoms, I would have mentioned my ongoing Acchalesia, Fibromyalgia and Nervous system Disorders too. I didn't do that. I have been an NHS worker through the pandemic and I am educated enough to know what to say and how to express it.
I am lost for words, totally speechless what to do. Most unbecoming a medical profession.
