"No return phone call"

About: Victoria Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a service user),

I have been waiting 5 weeks for blood results. I have spoken to the secretary a few times regarding this.

I phoned recently and spoke to the secretary to ask if my results were back, to be told my consultant is off on holiday and if I wanted to wait, but I said that I would like my results. I was then told by the secretary that they would speak to someone the following day and phone me back. However, I have still had no return phone call.

I am utterly disgusted that this is a regular occurrence for being told I will get return calls and it never happens, and I am fed up with all the excuses that come along with it. The hospital has signs up saying staff want to be treated with dignity and respect, but where is the respect towards patients when they are repeatedly told that they will get a phone back and it never happens?

It has made me question to whether I have actually had any truth from the hospital or not. I don't see why it is so hard for return phone calls from the hospital.

Dear Time Waster

I would like to offer my apologies that you have not received an update on your blood results and that you have not received a return phone call with an explanation for the delay. I am looking into this with the Secretaries and I would be most grateful if you could contact me with some more details so that I could look into this further and be able to give you an update on what is happening.

Dear Time Waster

Thank you for your phone call this morning, it was good to speak with you and gain a clearer understanding of your concerns.

I hope that I was able to offer you some reassurances and once I speak with the Consultant tomorrow, I should be able to give you a further update.

Best Wishes

Lisa
