"Patient Care"

About: Acute Medical Unit / Ward 3 - Medical

(as a carer),

I have a family member in Ward 3 Perth Royal Infirmary and am concerned about certain aspects of care and lack of respect and dignity that is being offered to patients by some members of staff.

I have observed  a lack of compassion, sometimes basic patient care  and leadership within the ward. It is very difficult to see a Doctor on the ward and I have not observed a charge nurse within the area.

I intend to take this matter further at a later date but wish to give an opportunity for improvement quickly. I would like to thank Richard and Joanna for their care and compassion, unfortunately they cannot be on every shift.

Good morning

I am so sorry to hear this and apologise for your experiences. I would be more than willing to talk to you when you are in to visit and I am on shift. There are also 2 Charge Nurses in the ward also who would be available when you are here.

Once again I am sorry and hope that I can catch you when you are next in the ward.

KR, Nicki (SCN)
