"A&E to Orthopeadic"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had a nasty accident, came off a pushbike and broke my elbow in several parts, it was an open fracture and my wife got me to the front door of the main entrance whilst she parked. Ambulance crew spotted me bleeding and about to pass out. I was picked up and fast tracked through A&E. I was buzzing on adrenaline and didn't comprehend the extent of my injuries.

Surgery, metalwork and physio three weeks later, I'm just beginning to process both the mental and physical trauma. Every time I relate the story, I well up (even writing this) and I think back to the amazing people in A&E and Ortho who scooped me up and cared for me. Thank you thank you thank you x I wish I knew all your names.

Dear Yogi L.

Thank you for your feedback. I will certainly let the ED team know about how you were fast tracked from ED to Ortho and had your surgery done.

I hope you are recovering well.

Kind regards,

Mitch
