"Lumbar Decompression Surgery"

About: Nightingale Hospital Exeter / South West Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre

(as the patient),

I arrive at 7:30 for my surgery at the Nightingale Hospital and was greeted by a lovely girl who checked me in at reception.

I then went into the waiting area where each person has the owner named chair to wait on.

I had my observations taken by a lovely lady who was very understanding of my anxiety and white coat syndrome!

I was then called into see my Anaesthetic who explained what would be happening, then shortly after into see my surgeon who marked my back with a pen ready for surgery and explained again the procedure.

I then went through to the ward, changed, took pre meds etc and was cared for by a fantastic team of nursing staff.

I went down first and on time, everything was so well organised and efficient, I felt very at ease and in safe hands.

I came back after the surgery to the ward, and again the team of nurses and physios are exceptional.

I spent a while with the team managing my pain which was quite bad, eating and drinking etc

The lovely two physios had me up very quickly walking, while giving me confidence.

I thought the hospital was absolutely spotless and being continually cleaned.

My whole experience was flawless and I’m so impressed with this hospital

The incredible staff make this hospital work so well.

Thank you so much
