"The care was very understanding and supportive."

About: Telford STaRS

(as a service user),

I would like to say a very big thank you to all the team at Telford Stars that ran the ambulatory detox in September.

The care that was given was very understanding and supportive.

I particularly enjoyed the sessions we had with Stacy who normally works with patients at Telford hospital, it was great that all of the sessions gave us food for thought and the opportunity to discuss our experiences with alcohol and general life experiences.

I gained a lot of confidence from this.

However and I appreciate that this was the first week to be run, we did have a lot of time sitting around due to cancelled sessions, so maybe there should be a back up plan for this as in the situation, especially the first couple of days you need some distraction.

Again I can’t thank you enough I am now at day 15 sober and starting to love life again without the vicious circle that dependence brings to you.

Good afternoon,

Thank you for the feedback you have provided, I am pleased you feel the care given to you was understanding and supportive.

I will ensure I share your feedback with the team.

I take on board your suggestion for a back up plan, because as you rightly pointed out it is very important to be keeping occupied during a detox, in particular early on.

I would like to wish you all the best in your recovery journey.

Kind Regards,

Chris Hirst
