"Surgery and recovery"

At the start of September, I was admitted to undergo a mastectomy and DIEP procedure. I was in hospital for 7 days. 

Every single member of staff, from my surgeon to the incredible nurses, the health care assistants and everyone in between were exceptional. I had a lot of anxiety about having such a big procedure done and the level of care, reassurance and genuine affection I was shown is unmatched. As a multidisciplinary team, they all worked so well together, no stone was left unturned with my care and recovery. 

I was always made to feel safe, listened to, I was never overlooked. 

My night Nurse in particular was amazing, he was calming, caring and just a genuinely lovely person to be looked after by. The whole Nursing team were second to none and I'm so grateful to the nurses and health care assistants particularly but also to every team member involved in my care.
