"Terrible Service "

About: Salisbury District Hospital

29/09/23 visited A&E with my 20month old daughter and 5 week old daughter after being advised by 101 to come up, was seen quickly and within 2hrs of arrival was admitted to Sarum ward for a assessment of my 20month old, this was at 6:30pm. This is where the good stops as we where sat in that room until just gone midnight with a 5 week baby waiting to be seen, we asked multiple times what the situation was and if we could leave and just return another day but kept getting told it would only be 30 more minutes until we where seen.

Every single person that entered the room we had to explain my daughters issue in detail over and over again, they had zero consideration for my 20 month old daughter who was in pieces understandably after being in a room over 6hrs, my 5 week old had to sleep on a pillow on the floor while we waited

After all that the consultant spent all of 15 minutes looking at her, didn’t really know what the issue was and sent us away with some antibiotics and took a swab sample, she’s still in a lot of discomfort we have just decided to administer medication at home and go through our GP

I have never felt so let down by a hospital in all my life and I feel the care I received was far from satisfactory, I would be very hesitant to take my daughter back to Salisbury in the event another A&E trip is required
