"Went completely beyond the call of duty"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Breast care and breast surgery

(as a service user),

My daughter's visit to the Royal Devon & Exeter.

I wanted to say how a wonderful nurse helped my daughter and myself when my daughter had a panic attack after she experienced an unexpected breast biopsy.

Christina used her lunchtime to help me to help my daughter. Once she had asked all the right questions, she went to find a wheelchair to put my daughter in.

She then followed me all the way through the hospital and right to the far end of the car park.

She was amazing and went completely beyond the call of duty. Please highly commend her.

The team of Nicki and Doc Laura were both very friendly, efficient and we admire what they do everyday

Dear lepusxf65,

Thank you for your kind words, and for taking the time to share your experience. It is wonderful to hear how our staff recognise when additional support is required, and as you say go 'beyond the call of duty'. I will endeavour to share your thanks for her actions that day.

It sounds as though the unexpected biopsy caused a certain level of distress, and I trust that the interventions by Christina, Nicki and Laura eased the anxiety and that everything was ok with the results of her biopsy.
