I was a day patient here for a colonoscopy, I was extremely nervous to attend. I’ve never done anything like this before, I have a massive fear of needles or anything to do with hospital or doctors.
I was welcomed by a lovely receptionist. I was then later greeted buy a nurse who was explaining the procedure to me when I explained my worries to her and she reassured me and made sure all the other doctors and surgeons knew my worries to help me the best they could.
I then went through to get my gown on and have my cannula put in, the nurse who was doing this really helped me and calmed my nerves, she reassured me that I could do it and everything will be okay, she really took her time and listened when I wanted her to stop. I really do think if the nurse wasn’t so caring and thoughtful I wouldn’t have gone through with having the whole procedure.
I then went to have my colonoscopy and the surgeon in there was amazing also, they knew my panic and made sure I was calm and talked me through everything. I was put at ease through the entire experience here, I am so grateful to have the doctors, nurses and surgeons I did on the day. The nurse's name who helped me through everything is called Carol. Thank you so much.
