About: Community Services - Eastern / Speech and Language Therapy

(as a service user),

I have Motor Neurone Disease and cannot speak and have swallowing difficulties. Eleanor the Speech and Language Therapist who visits me gives me confidence that all of this is manageable. She is always available to me via email and responds immediately  and visits frequently. She listens patiently to the latest of my problems (and it requires a lot of patience as i am a slow typist). And always comes up with a helpful way forward and a plan for coping with the next stage of MND.

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience of speech and language therapy. I'm very pleased to hear that Eleanor has been helping you to find ways to cope with the many challenges that MND presents. As you say, the key to getting it right for people is listening, and it's great to hear that Eleanor has given you the time that you need.
