"Absolutely Brilliant Work "

About: Chapel Allerton Hospital

I had a black mark in my lower abdomen for about a year and when this got larger in June this year, I went to see my doctor here in Leeds. He sent me to the dermatology clinic in the Chapel Allerton Hospital (part of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals) and the staff there immediately diagnosed malignant melanoma. I was operated on the following week, and when I went back for a check up a few weeks later I was told that I got the all clear.

I found the staff and the whole experience absolutely outstanding. The people there were kind, patient, understanding and brilliant. I cannot thank them enough. I sent a message thanking them but the message was returned because I had named them — this silly rule had something to do with data protection !

Anyway, I am eternally thankful to the small group involved and again many, many thanks for your really great work.

Dear Richard

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us.

Your post is wonderful to read and I am extremely pleased that you had such a positive experience whilst in our care and that you were treated with both patience and understanding.

I have passed your kind words onto the Dermatology Management Team and asked that your kind and supportive feedback is shared with the team. I know that all the staff will be delighted that they are delivering a level of care that met your needs and fulfilled all your expectations.

With kindest regards
