In November 2021 my partner and I were stationary in our car when we were struck at speed by another driver. I suffered two bleeds on my brain. My partner was asked if they should resuscitate in the event of cardiac failure.
I was transformed from an active seventy year-old to not being able to walk and had to spend a long time learning to get about again. First wheelchair, then walker and then stick. I have short-term memory loss and am unsteady with loss of balance and muscle weakness.
The staff at the Hydrotherapy unit were amazing. Kind, attentive and gentle in their care. My muscle strength has improved and I can walk short distances with my stick much better than previously. I cannot thank them enough and have now moved on to local Physiotherapy and hope for further improvement.
