I recently went on a motorbike tour of Northern Spain, on the first day of my trip I had a low speed spill on the bike and ended up with a broken ankle.
Emergency care in Spain was very good, and I returned home 2 days after the incident. The care I then received from our NHS, from A&E in Altnagelvin to the staff in the Waterside HC, treatment room, district nurses and doctors, has been second to none.
At every stage and visit, the care and attention has been truly exemplary, it was almost like being treated by family. Nothing was ever a problem and I am still receiving care due to a persistent infection and again the care and attention has not faded in the least.
If it were down to me these health clinicians, who are working under severe pressure, would be rewarded not just financially but in every way possible, more staff, better wages, more support from our government and politicians. The service provided under financial and logistical constraints is in my humble opinion, exemplary provided with true care and attention for their patients.
"The care & attention has been truly exemplary"
