My daughter started at the child development centre (CDC) when she was 1.5 years old. She sees a key worker every week who engages her in various play activities to help with her development.

Her key worker links in with all the other services involved in her care ie physio OT SLT to work on specific skills advised by them.

If we are unable to make it into the centre, she is offered a home visit when possible.

I would say the most valuable aspect of her starting at CDC for me is the fact I don’t have to be the one who is coordinating her care. MDT meetings are held so that all professionals are aware of her current needs/treatments etc.

It has also been beneficial for just finding out information about various services for kids with additional needs, as well as information and support with the nursery process.

It really is a vital service for kids and families with additional care needs as the knowledge and support my daughter and my family have received has been amazing

Dear virgopw37

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience of the Child Development Center.

I am pleased to hear that the support and information you have been given has been helpful and the staff will be delighted to hear that you have found them professional and knowledgeable.

Regular MDT meetings are a vital part of the work the CDC does, and I thank you for letting us know that you have found this the most beneficial.

I will pass on your feedback to the staff at the centre and I wish you and your daughter all the best as she moves on to nursery and beyond.

Please do not hesitate to contact the service in the future if there is anything we may be able to help with

Dear Virgopw37

Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience of the Child Development Centre. It's wonderful to hear how the support of the key worker and the multidisciplinary team has been instrumental in your daughter's development. The collaboration between professionals to coordinate her care, along with the home visits and support you’ve received, highlights the importance of a truly integrated approach to care.

We're so glad that the CDC has provided you with both practical assistance and valuable information about services and processes, such as the move to nursery. Your feedback reinforces the vital role that the CDC plays in supporting children and families with additional needs, and we are thrilled to know that the support and guidance have had such a meaningful impact on your daughter and your family.

Thank you again for your kind words and for emphasizing the importance of this service and we shall share this with the CDC team - they will be over the moon to read such kind feedback!.

Thanks again and best wishes

Olivia
