"Wonderful care and practice"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

My son recently broke his humerus and needed surgery. He recovered in Ward 23 and couldn’t have been more cared for. He suffers with OCD and the staff were so understanding and nothing was a bother. My heartfelt thanks go out to the lovely nurses, physio, consultant, anaesthetist and carers who helped with his care. My son was extremely anxious about taking any kind of drug but the nurses calmly explained the medicine needed in terms of pain relief and why it was necessary and how it would help over and over again. This really helped with his anxiety which was through the roof as you can imagine. He even said himself he has conquered his fear of hospitals now. All the nurses were amazing and deserve a shout out. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback regarding your sons recent visit to Surgical Services at the RVI. We are pleased that the staff were able to help with his anxiety and he has now conquered his fear of hospitals. We will forwarded your comments to the directorate concerned, who will share with the staff involved.
