I am a diabetic coeliac, and therefore fall within the at risk areas regarding my foot care. Until recently my foot care has been good with only occasional assistance from the podiatry team.
Some four months ago I started to experience pain from the big toe on my left foot, (which didn't show any real evidence of the cause) to the extent that I had to purchase larger shoe sizes, normally a UK 10, ended up with UK 11.5 - which were still painful, so, I sought the assistance of the podiatry department. I was attended to by Lorraine, who not only identified the problem, but skilfully remedied it with careful attention, advising me of what and why she was doing it, also advising of a suggested care regime.
Since that day, I can now wear my size 10 footwear once again and today, when attending a follow up clinic I was equally well attended to and updated by Lesley, another excellent member of the team.
My thanks to you all for giving me back a pain free pair of feet!!
