"Pill pushing not support"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Adult mental health (Wards 2,3)

(as a service user),

In every case I have left hospital in a worse position than when I arrived.

I found the treatment course was nothing short of what felt like medical torment. I had to remind the consultant of the Hippocratic oath before meds were reduced. In doing so my problems started.

There is an attitude of pill pushing rather than support for the ‘victim’ and in all seriousness it feels like MH services are nothing short of a glorified national victim discrediting service.

Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience of our inpatient service. I'm sorry to read that your experience was so negative and that we didn't live up to you expectations during this stay.

Medicines can be an important element of treatment but meaningful discussion about them is essential. If you would like to speak to the staff about your experience then please give us a call on the ward and the staff can help give you some guidance. Alternatively, you will have an out-patient appointment within a week of leaving hospital and this provides another opportunity to discuss your medications.
