Went to Urgent Care on 14/9/24, after other Gp’s and hospitals had misdiagnosed and dismissed my symptoms and refused to give me an MRI scan even after my physio and a doctor at St Peter’s extended hours had requested an mri scan. In this review I would really have liked to name the doctor at urgent care but it’s not permitted on these reviews. The doctor at urgent care was caring and understanding and extremely thorough with is examination and the test that he carried out, he went beyond what was expected of him and his very detailed report allowed me to get the treatment that I needed, even the staff at the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit Blackburn commented about how thorough and detailed his report was. Had it not been for him, I would have ended up in a very serious position. He arranged for me to have an mri scan after he diagnose suspected spinal cord compression (Cauda equina) I had the mri scan that confirmed spinal compression and was transferred to Preston hospital for surgery. I had seen my Gp on the 2/9/24 and then had seen a doctor at St Peter’s Centre (13/9/24) who also diagnosed suspected compression of the spinal cord and I was sent to Blackburn hospital, the doctor at Blackburn sent me home with pain killers. I cannot praise and thank the doctor and a lovely lady receptionist who made sure that I was comfortable whilst I was at Urgent Care enough. Thankfully there are doctors that listen to patients and care about their well being and health. A very big thank you to all at Urgent care and especially the fantastic doctor I saw and the lovely caring receptionist.
"Great service"
