"Amazing care and attention I received"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Acute assessment unit Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Cardiology Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Clinical assessment unit

(as the patient),

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who treated, supported and cared for me during my treatment and stay at Forth Valley Hospital last month. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with compassion, empathy, expertise and efficiency with 0 waiting time.

Referred by my GP due to chest pains, I was immediately seen and a series of tests carried out over a period of 2 days to establish what was wrong.

A huge shout out is deserved to the whole team in the Assessment Unit who were all super friendly and made me feel completely at ease. Steph (ANP I think?) especially excelled in explaining exactly what I needed to know as well as the changes I should make to keep myself healthy in the future after I recovered from the suspected heart episode. Steph you have definitely made a difference to me and deserve a mention for your obvious expertise and fantastic bedside manner.

I also want to mention my cardiologist Dr Murphy, who was patient and understanding and also super helpful with explaining what I needed to know when we found out it had indeed been a heart attack. Again you left no stone unturned which was so reassuring and you are a credit to your profession.

The nurses and assistants in the Assessment Ward where I stayed for 3 nights were fantastic. I wish I could remember all your names but Lauren, Amy, Megan and the other lovely recent graduate from Stirling Uni, fabulous as well as all you other lovely people who work so hard day and night to look after those who are unfortunately kept in.

Its a scary experience for anyone and the care and attention was brilliant. Food was great and banter too!

Thanks also to the porters who wheeled me to and fro and were so positive and chatty and to the rehab team who I look forward to working on myself with over the next few weeks.

Well done all and NHS Forth Valley. You made a bad situation, much easier to bear.
