"Thought I was in a wrestling bout against a tag team!"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I woke up at 3:30am and at about 4am my heart started racing about 197-208 BPM , Ambulance staff were first class, giving me ECG and various tests before transferring me to the RAH at Paisley.

I was met there by the 3 ladies in the A&E department. What a great team! They did ECG and blood tests, I had a Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), it was treated by me blowing into a syringe, then being pushed down and my legs thrown into the air ! thought I was in a wrestling bout against a tag team, lol, they were fantastic!

Heart went quickly back to normal, another blood test and home.

Thanks girls you are a first class nurse unit .

Dear Tommy24

Thank you for sharing your experience having been brought to our A&E by ambulance.

I'm delighted, as you describe the "wrestling bout" by Medical and Nursing colleagues doing the trick and being able to be safely discharged home.

I'll make sure the whole team see your post and thanks again on their behalf for sharing.

Gerry

Hi Tommy24,

I see my colleague Gerry from NHS GG&C has already responded, but I just wanted to pass on our thanks from the Scottish Ambulance Service for the kind words about our staff.

They'll be delighted to hear you thought the service was first class.

It sounds like quite the experience when you got to hospital!

We hope you're recovering well now and thanks again for posting,

All the best,

Mark
