"Certain members of staff were consistently demeaning"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Acute Short Stay Medicine Rapid Access Assessment Clinic (RAAC)

(as the patient),

I have been in and out of ARI since February after an SVT episode requiring drug reversal in A&E. Long story, but the worst has been in the RAC clinic and ward 103.

I was treated with disdain and made to feel like something you would scrape off your shoe. Certain members of staff were consistently demeaning.

Recently I was admitted having had another SVT and covid, left for 9 hours without seeing a doctor, having pain relief or fluids despite needing all of these things.

Having never been near hospital before I am now terrified of further episodes and treatments . I’m being assessed for Autism (high functioning) in attempt to get more support for hospital visits .
