"I have been diagnosed with cancer"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Oncology unit

(as the patient),

I have a growth / tumour in my left pelvis which has been assessed and diagnosed as cancer (Sarcoma).

I also have blood clots in each lung and chronic pain in my left leg and foot as a result of the nerves being pinched by the tumour.

I have been in extreme pain and could not sleep for over a week until I became an in patient and received better pain relief medication.

The staff were friendly and supportive and it was good to have a buzzer to ask for pain relief. I liked having a shower en suite.

On some occasions the time taken to get pain relief could have been faster.
