Overall process was quick and efficient. X-ray staff were lovely and very reassuring to both myself and my son.
I just felt the questioning on triage very blunt and received a very cold attitude from staff as well as some of the questioning regarding family I found to be rather unnecessary and very direct and at times I as a parent felt very judged.
I completely understand that safety of children attending MIU / hospital is priority in case of any abuse situations etc but based on the fact my son has never attended hospital before and was very happy to explain the scenario that occurred causing him an injury to his fingers, I felt asking him directly whether (after establishing that he lives with myself and his older brother) if he sees his dad and whether his father was around.
My son then openly explained in great detail all about the time he spends with his dad but I was quite shocked at how blunt this question was and although in our situation my son's father has an active role in his life despite the fact we are now divorced, I found it to be totally unnecessary and potentially a very triggering question for a less fortunate child (who has no father around for whatever reason) to have to answer.
