"Everyone was so professional and caring"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical Assessment Unit University Hospital Hairmyres / Medicine for the Older Adult (wards 13 - 16)

(as the patient),

I collapsed at a football match and spent 5 days in Hairmyres Hospital. I was unconscious for about 15 minutes and attended to by the First Aid team at the football ground for over an hour. Then taken to Hairmyres

Hospital, was seen quickly at A&E and kept in a bed there overnight. Transferred to ward 3 where I spent 3 days and then Ward 14 for 1 night.

I cannot praise everybody in each department  highly enough for the high level of care that I was given. From the Consultants down to the dinner lady, everyone was so professional, caring and so many smiles on so many faces. Each ward was very clean and the food was very very good.

So Hairmyres Hospital, from my family and I. God Bless you and Thank you !!

Dear John571,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

I am really sorry to hear that you have been unwell, it must have been a really worrying time for you. I am delighted to hear that your journey was positive throughout Hairmyres Hospital and I hope you continue to improve.

I will ensure to pass on your kind words to ED, Ward3 & Ward 14.

Kind Regards
