I recently had an ultrasound scan at the X-ray department and from entering to leaving I was very impressed with the way I was treated.
Reception staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. The radiographer, Pauline, was very kind, helpful and respectful and as she was unable to obtain a good picture she advised me to drink a further 6 glasses of water and to go for a walk and return to her after a further 30 minutes.
The second attempt was successful and I wish to commend Pauline on her thoroughness and dignity with which the scan was executed. I was kept well informed throughout and given clear instructions on how the results would be notified to me.
I also had an upcoming x-ray appointment for my local hospital and this was also carried out after Pauline checked that there was an opening for it to be done and the radiographer on this occasion was also very kind and informative. My other appointment was duly cancelled on their system, leaving me free that day and an opening to offer the appointment to another person or for an emergency.
The hospital also had a good level of cleanliness evident and car parking was easier than expected at a good rate.
I certainly left feeling valued unlike a previous experience at a different hospital.
Well done Lagan Valley X-ray Department.
