"No basic care"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

Terrible experience on this ward after giving birth.

The night staff in particular were horrible. No one even changed my bedding when it was covered in blood and my baby's urine/faeces so I had to change it four times without any help, I was in a lot of pain after having a forced delivery with a 3rd degree tear.

I felt bullied by the midwives.

I was sent home with incorrect instructions with my medication and even sent home without medication that I needed to make myself better as I was being treated with sepsis.

I received no help feeding my baby and he went 8 hours not being fed at all, they didn't seem concerned.

Dear LKid,

I am very sorry to hear about your experience on the ward following the birth of your baby.

This is very upsetting to read and unacceptable.

We would like to discuss this further with you so please provide us with your details so we are able to make contact with you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Lisa Chaplin- Matron.
