"My care was exemplary"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (Ward 62) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Xrays and Scans Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

Taken from work at 5am to QEUH Resus with suspected stroke (TIA) at the end of August 2024.

Courteously taken from work to A&E by SAS.

I was received by the resuscitation room on arrival.  Bloods were taken and I was CT scanned very quickly.

I was admitted to ward 62, where I was reviewed by the medical team, and informed no obvious issues had been identified on my scans. An MRI followed, and again no abnormalities were found.

I then had a physio and occupational therapist visit my bedside, to help my rehabilitation.

My care was exemplary, and I cannot thank all involved in my care. I’m so grateful for all of the care and timely investigations.

I continue to recuperate, but feel I have to complement all involved in my care.

Hi Trek4548,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion.

I am so sorry to read about what happened to you, that must have been a terrifying experience for you. I am so pleased to read that you are now on the road to recovery with positive scan results indicated by yourself.

I will pass on your feedback to the Radiographers at the QEUH and Institute of Neurological Sciences where I will assume you underwent initial CT then your subsequent MRI scan.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

I will also pass on your feedback to the Allied Health Professional Lead for Physio and Occupational Therapy.

Best wishes,

Michael

Hi Trek4548,

I see my colleague Michael from NHS GG&C has already come back to comment on the care you received during your recent visit following a suspected stroke.

I just wanted to pass on our thanks from the Scottish Ambulance Service for your warm words about our staff. It is much appreciated. It's really kind of you to take the time to post these comments.

All the very best,

Mark
