"Giving thanks to staff before my cystectomy"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Urology Suite

(as a service user),

I attended the day surgery unit at University Hospital Monklands this week for my fifth bladder cancer resection surgery (TURBT) in four years which also turned out to be an overnight stay.

Having had this procedure before I knew what to expect, however this one was more difficult than the previous ones I have had, because it is in advance of a further radical cystectomy procedure that I will be having in the weeks to come.

At this difficult time I would just like to give my thanks to all of the staff involved in my care from the receptionist on  admission through to all of the nurses, doctors, the anaesthetist, theatre staff, cleaners and anyone I may have missed.

You are all truly amazing and do a wonderful job.

I am deeply thankful for your care and support. ❤️

Dear smm,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of day surgery unit at University Hospital Monklands.

I can only imagine how hard it has been for you given the number of procedures you have had to go through and the worry that comes with having an operation. I am so pleased to hear that all the team have treated you so well throughout your stays with us. It must help to make you feel at ease during such an anxious time.

I look forward to passing your kind words to the whole team who will get a real boost from hearing your feedback.

I hope you are keeping well and wish you all the best for your upcoming cystectomy procedure.

Kind regards,

Alix
