"They showed unfailing care, kindness and professionalism"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

Prompt arrival by paramedics, following my 999 call, ensured the best outcome when my husband became ill.

The paramedics were extremely professional and kind, giving consideration not only to the patient, but also to my family.

He was quickly assessed at A&E and, from there, was taken to the stroke unit in Ward 3E.

During his 2 day stay there, all doctors and nurses showed unfailing care, kindness and professionalism towards him. A special thanks to staff nurse Joanne McEwoy who patiently answered all our questions. We found this to be invaluable in setting our minds at rest.

Our thanks go to all staff.

Dear Scoreboardje74,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to your husband, that must have been a terrifying situation for you all. I do hope that he is feeling better and on the road to recovery. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your husbands name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear scoreboardje74

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback about the care provided by the staff within the Emergency Department and Ward 3E, University Hospital Crosshouse.

I sorry to hear that your husband required admission to hospital following a stroke, but heartened to hear that he received such reassuring, prompt and professional care from our staff.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients, and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Teams who would have cared for him, and with Joanne in particular. I know they will all be delighted to receive this feedback and it will be really encouraging for them to know that your husband felt so well supported by them.

Please accept my best wishes for your husband’s ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge his care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
