Macular problems have reduced my vision and consequently restricted a lot of activities and general getting around. I anticipated my appointment at the outpatients would be to start a plan to maybe control the condition and slow down any further deteriation. This is going ahead, however what I did not expect was to walk out a couple of hours later with a lot of vision restored. I was advised part of my poor vision was down to past cataract surgery and laser treatment should help with this. I was able to get laser treatment the same day and cannot quite believe what an improvement this has made to my sight. My world is so much brighter and issues with blurred and foggy images have gone. When I walked into the centre that morning I could not see clearly anything past a metre in front of me, coming out I could identify my lift, and read the car registration from metres away, the results were that quick! Overall I think seen three consultants on that day, I know they cannot be named but hope they get to know they have given me such a quality of life back a big thank you is not enough. My world had become so insular and now I am back out re-visiting as many places as possible now I can see them again. Massive Thanks to all.
