"Support and guidance"

About: Fife Community Services / Breast Feeding Support Service

(as a service user),

As a new mum, I was struggling in the first week with breastfeeding pain and poor latch. The breastfeeding support team visited me at home to give me support and coach me in better latches for me and my newborn. I was also provided with follow up support and videos via text. Within a week, I was breastfeeding myself pain free and have continued since. If it wasn't for the support and guidance of the breastfeeding support team, I likely would have had to give up on breastfeeding altogether.

Dear Mary123

My name is Siobhan McIlroy and I am the Head of patient experience. I am sorry for the late response.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. I understand how challenging those first weeks can be as a new mum, especially when dealing with breastfeeding pain and latch issues.

I am thrilled to hear that the breastfeeding support team was able to provide you with the guidance and care you needed, both in-person and through follow-up support. It’s wonderful to know that their help allowed you to continue breastfeeding pain-free.

Your feedback means a lot, and I will be sure to share your kind words with the team and I am sure they will b glad to have been part of your journey.

Best wishes, Siobhan
