I left hospital struggling with breastfeeding as I had a reduction 12 years ago. I had help with latching in hospital but when I got home I just couldn’t do it and was getting really stressed. The midwives referred me to the breastfeeding support fife team and they were able to help me immediately. I had a really positive chat on the phone followed by a home visit and also loan of pump.
My breastfeeding journey was short as I inevitably couldn’t keep up with triple feeding but I’m so glad I was able to give my baby 6 weeks of breast milk. I absolutely couldn’t have done it without the advice and support from this service
