I rang my local surgery on Wednesday morning last week after feeling ill for over a week, reception staff said I couldn't have an appointment untill I done a COVID test, I was too ill to get this, so my family got me a test in a local shop. I done this and I tested negative for covid.
I rang my surgery on Thursday morning and got an appointment with a GP I was in surgery a good hour and the Dr referred me urgently to a&e. I attended A&e at south west acute hospital and was taken straight away and assessed by the staff there, it ended up I was so sick with pneumonia and was septic as my crp blood was through the roof I felt so unwell.
The staff and drs immediately started me on strong antibiotics and fluids I stayed overnight there and was given excellent care by the staff. I was transferred to ward one on Friday and was cared for there by wonderful nurses and drs until I got home on the Sunday. I am continuing on antibiotics and they are still monitoring other blood tests so they are following up all my results.
I am now clear of sepsis and infection and I am so thankful for the care and attention I received at my local hospital they saved my life.
"Great care received by staff In A&e and ward one"
