"Total left knee replacement-thank you to all"

About: North Devon District Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I am 4 weeks post op, the improvement is already showing no pain and a beautiful neat scar. I stayed awake through the op I was scared at first but that soon eased off as the Dr's and nurses were speaking to me all throughout.  I think I even dropped off to sleep and gave the anaesthetist a scare as my oxygen level drop each time.

I was wheeled straight back to the ward welcomed with smiles and welcome backs and had a welcome sandwich and drink and then helped to get up and walk around and eventually a flight of stairs.  After that,  I was able to take myself to the loo and by this time all other patients from that day had gone home but I had to stay and I didn't mind I knew I was going home the next day  and my family had already popped in so I decided to settle down.  I was only disturbed for vitals readings.  All in all, the time I spent there was was very comforting and reassuring. Thank you to our wonderful NHS and Mr Cove, thank you to you all.

Dear Mandy 12,

Thank you for taking the time to post your response following your recent Left Knee replacement on Jubilee ward.

I am pleased that you felt at ease during your surgery, theatre staff are all very good at putting patients minds at ease.

On Jubilee ward we all pride ourselves in making patients stay as comfortable as we can, always welcoming patients with smiles and lots of beverages. I am glad that you felt comforted and reassured throughout your stay.

Thank you for your very kind words, it is always lovely to receive such positive feedback. I will pass on your comments to Mr Cove and the whole team.

May we all wish you a continued recovery and all of the best for the future.

Kind Regards

Julie Pragnell
