I think they should have had a TV and something to use to listen to music.

Transport was good but I wish I had been able to do other things (than local taxi).

The hospital wasn't cleaned as good as it should have cleaned.  The toilets need to be cleaned.

Food was stinking and didn't always get to choose.

There wasn't enough to do and I was bored.

Many Thanks for your comments and I apologies for the delay in responding.

I am sorry that you felt bored during your stay in hospital. The service is always looking at ways to improve ward activities to ensure they are person-centred and enjoyable

In regards to the cleanliness of the environment. I will follow this up a priority to the domestic services manager. I can also take forward that your were unhappy with the food choices, although some additional information such as what choices were absent from the menu may help make further improvements.

It is positive to hear that you felt transport was good, the ward staff feel it is important to ensure that patients being cared for have access to community services such as shopping, socialising and attending appointments.

It was also welcoming to read that you could find your way both in the ward and hospital. It is important that patients are supported to familiarise themselves with the surroundings.

I am pleased to know that you were happy with your bedroom. It is extremely important that as part of the assessment and treatment care pathway that patient's have their right to privacy maintained throughout their stay.

Many Thanks for your very helpful feedback which I will take forward with a view to improving our service.

Both the ward manager and myself have met with the domestic services manager. We have now secured additional cleaning hours within the ward to ensure that improvements are made and maintained in this area. The menu choices along with the ward cleanliness are being kept under monthly review by Catering & Domestic Services Management and Carrick 2 Management at the scheduled operational meetings. It is important that ongoing feedback from patients and their representative's are kept under review and changes are made when necessary.

Many Thanks

Ray
