My husband was admitted to the Western General Hospital in early April with cognitive and mobility issues that had been developing over several weeks.
He was quickly transferred to the Department for Clinical Neuroscience (DCN) at the Royal Infirmary, where he remained for the next 5 months. Over that period the care and support that we received was truly remarkable.
From the amazing Consultant, through the neurologists, nursing and support staff, physiotherapists and occupational therapists and cleaners, they all showed incredible compassion, kindness and genuine empathy especially when we got the dreadful diagnosis we all feared.
After 5 long and very difficult months my husband is finally heading home, thanks to the phenomenal care and support from absolutely everyone in Ward 231. You are all stars!
