Anything else?
The media are quick to critisise our NHS but when the chips are down they do come up with the goods. My experiences over the last 7 years I think, qualifies me to say that. My husband was diagnosed in August 2006 with Leukaemia. During this 7 years (most of which he was healthy) he was cared for predominantly by Torbay Hospital mostly in Turner Ward where the care he received was so special, despite the severe nature of his condition. We were always made to feel cared for and I was kept in the 'loop' by his consultant and the nursing staff. In his last few weeks leading up to his death the staff were caring, compationate not only with my husband but to our friends and family who were around at the end. Myself and our son will not forget the positive experience that Torbay gave to us.
