"You are such a great team!"

About: Loane House / Ward 1

(as the patient),

I was recently moved from Craigavon Hospital to Loane House, Ward 1.

I was dreading it, as I have had a number of relatives who have died in Loane house over the years.

I was pleasantly surprised.

The Nursing staff, Physios, OT's, Domestics, doctors, were 1st Class, genuinely caring, very helpful and couldn't do enough for me.

The place was kept spotless by the domestics at all times.

The food itself was well cooked, but the variety of choice left a lot to be desired, 40 ways to cook mince. I found myself having to ask my husband to bring me in a sandwich or foods at times.

Can't think of anything that could improve the ward except have more remote controls for the TV's, my husband had to go and buy one for me.

I am going home after 15 weeks in hospital, I will miss the staff in here, they are all amazing. Thank you so much for all your help and kindness, you are such a great team!

Good afternoon, thank you for taking the time for sharing this very valuable feedback.

I am delighted to hear the Nursing staff, Physios, OT's, Domestics, doctors, were 1st Class, genuinely caring, very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. They work very hard to keep you comfortable and safe and to help you reach your goals.

I am sorry to hear variety of choice left a lot to be desired, recently we had a reduction in what we could provide in menu choices, but this has now been resolved.

I appreciate you letting us know about the problems with the remote controls for the TV's, We will take this on board and order replacements

Thank you

Sinead Morrow

Hi,

An update that a change has been made to the availability of Remote control within ward 1 STH.

Ward 1 ordered a supply of new remote controls. These are attached to the wall.

1 for each bay of 4 patients and one each for the side rooms.

This in turn will provide more patient satisfaction and will aim to prevent remotes controls going missing

Thanks Donna

Senior Nurse STH
