I recently met one of the team at IRH other than my usual appointment with consultant Dr Roberts, who I had seen a few months before.
Ruth was a nurse and listened to me, explaining how I felt about the pain I was in. She was sympathetic and very professional as well as being very thorough in her examination of me.
She made me feel as if she really believed me and was sympathetic towards me while assuring me that she could do something to help me. I was given a steroid injection to help control the flare that I am in. She also said she would get in touch with occupational therapy to see if there were any other options for making my home life easier.
I left her room feeling much more positive than when I walked in.
My next port was to get bloods taken and as usual this was done quickly and efficiently by a lovely phlebotomist called Morven .
I have been attending IRH since I was a teenager and I have always found the team pleasant and informative. They listen to me and adapt my care accordingly.
I have in the past received occupational therapy in the form of a twelve week exercise program as well as various medications to treat my condition.
"I left feeling much more positive"
