"I felt so heard and supported"

About: Royal Cornhill Hospital / Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Intervention service

(as the patient),

Before I welcomed my beautiful son, I sadly lost my 3rd little angel at the beginning of 2023. Once I fell pregnant with my son a few months later I was a ball of anxiety and fear. I couldn’t shift those negative thoughts and really struggled to think positive. I was referred to MNIP services through my midwife and the support and guidance I was shown was amazing, I was checked in on after my son was born also. I’m not usually someone who will reach out for help but I’m truly so glad I did. I felt so heard and supported. A massive thank you to Shona who helped me and made pregnancy that bit easier. I’m sure the rest of the team are as caring and supportive as Shona.

I couldn’t recommend MNIP services more and will continue to tell people about this service.

Very helpful.
Thank you again.

Thank you for sharing your experiences in such a compassionate way. In doing so your experience can help other parents to recognise the range of thoughts and feelings that can take place during maternity journeys and to know that there is support available. Being heard and supported is central to our work in MNPI and it is wonderful that you highlight this as being the case for you. I would like to thank you for your feedback, which has been communicated to Shona and the team, and for your commitment to telling people about the MNPI service as this can only serve to ensure that others who may not be sure about seeking support gain motivation to do so. The team and I wish you and your family well.
