"My sister got to come home to her children"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / General surgery (Wards 9a, 9b, 9c & 9d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neuro-rehabilitation Unit (NRU) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neurosurgery (Ward 64 – 66) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Rehabilitation Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / West of Scotland Major Trauma Ward (ward 1c)

(as a relative),

In October my sister was brought to the hospital, sadly she was in critical condition and there wasn’t much hope, my sister suffered horrific injuries through an attack.

Every member of staff were amazing from a&e to icu, Mr Canti & his team,  even the cleaners. I was terrified and really felt my sister wasn’t going to make it, but the staff were amazing at explaining each step, they made me feel so reassured, they went above and beyond for my sister and family. There is no words to explain the level of care my sister received and after 6 months in hospital my sister got to come home to her children.

I want to thank every member involved in my sister's care, especially the icu staff. Also the team over at the rehabilitation centre, because of them my sister learnt to walk again and walked out of hospital, she gets to make more memories with her children & family. Nearly a year on and this hospital will always hold a special place to my family, Mr Canti & his team who did the life saving surgery, I really want to thank yous all, what an amazing hospital, thank you so much.
