"Department is clearly run to the highest standard"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Interventional Cardiology

(as the patient),

From the moment I arrived at the Golden Jubilee Hospital every member of staff I met was kind, compassionate and helpful. I was nervous about coming to the Cardiology Day Unit, but the ladies I met at main reception and at CDU reception were smiling, friendly and welcoming, and immediately put me at ease.

The CDU was very busy, and the staff are all clearly working very hard, but all of the staff members I had contact with made the time to help me and answer my questions, which reassured me and made my experience a good one.

All of the staff are excellent, but I would like to particularly mention and thank Dr Shaukat, Dr Tom (from Canada), Staff Nurse Scott, Alan, Colin, Philip and Student Nurse Kieva. I would also like to thank all the staff who were in the lab during my procedure. Everyone was extremely skilled and professional, and obviously dedicated to their work, but also compassionate, caring and chatty, with just the perfect amount of fun to keep me calm and take my mind off the process of the procedure I was undergoing.

After my procedure, the care from Staff Nurse Scott in particular was excellent, and Dr Shaukat and Dr Tom discussed the result with me, answered my questions and made sure I understood the discharge advice and next steps.

This department is clearly run to the highest standard and is a perfect example of our NHS at its very best.

Dear Poppy1942

Thank you for taking the time to post about your recent experience. I am pleased to hear the care you received was of the highest standard and I am sure that the team will be thrilled to hear the impact that they have had on your journey.

I am keen to ensure that this is shared with all the staff involved in your care and would be grateful if you could kindly email feedback@gjnh.scot.nhs.uk with your name, date of birth and address please.

I hope you are recovering well following your procedure.

Kind regards

Hollie
